Three Thursday’s in February are dedicated to Kitchen Fundamentals at the Cooking Studio…and the focus is on the FUN in fundamentals!   February 9th is all about knives and knife skills; February 16th will focus on sauce making; and February 23rd focuses on three key cooking methods.  The entire 3 class series in February is just $150!

*These classes are limited to a maximum of 12 participants, 18 years and over.

Beginning with knife skills, the focus will be on THE tool in the kitchen…knives.  We will discuss selecting, maintaining and using knives properly then you will have a chance to slice, mince, julienne and chiffonade and learn the uses for these cuts.  You’ll be surprised how your food is more evenly cooked and, best of all, how great knife skills enhance the overall appearance of your food! The second course in the series will focus on making classical and contemporary sauces, including Hollandaise, Mornay, Picatta and Raspberry Coulis which will be served with delectable accompaniments in class… these sauces are sure to become favorites at home.  Then on to sauté, roast, and grill!  This class will not only transform your understanding of applying heat to food…it will transform your life in the kitchen!  You will literally make food jump, sear and sizzle with the techniques from this amazing class.  These fundamental series classes should not be missed and with these techniques under your belt…you’ll really be cooking for years to come!
